Sign the Petition Opposing S2851/A5066

In 2020, legislation was introduced in the New Jersey Senate and Assembly to reduce the staffing levels on ambulances to (1) EMT and (1) first responder. These two bills S2851 and A5066, and any previous or subsequent similar Legislation has been and will be opposed by the NJ FMBA.
The position of the NJ FMBA is:
  • Staffing an ambulance with anything less than two EMTs is detrimental to the welfare of the residents of New Jersey and would only serve to reduce the standard of care.
  • It would compromise the safety of the patient and provider.
  • New Jersey has over 30,000 EMTs. The levels of working providers are due to low wages and benefits.
We are calling on our members and public safety affiliates to voice their opposition to this legislation. Please sign the petition opposing this legislation by clicking the link below.
